Definition
A grammatical form used to indicate that the subject is affected by an action.
How to Use
For godan verbs: change the last character u to a and add れる. For ichidan verbs: remove る and add られる. For irregular verbs: する becomes される and くる becomes こられる.

The passive form is commonly used to shift the focus to the receiver of an action.

Used to express actions that happen to the subject, often when the subject is the recipient of an action rather than the doer.
